2020 High School Senior Portraits Are Here

It is hard to believe that 2020
High School Seniors are here.

At Rychels Designer Portraits we feel that your senior portrait is the most significant individual portrait that you will take during your lifetime.
For most people, it is the only time where the camera is focused on you alone. Weddings focus on brides and grooms and families. Family photos focus on groups.
Many high school reunions use graduation pictures on name badges and have slide shows featuring senior portraits. Imagine when you attend your 50th-year class reunion, you will be identified by your senior portrait.

The portrait of you on the mantel of your mom's fireplace usually is your senior portrait.

At Rychel's Designer Portraits, YOU ARE SPECIAL!

Your portrait whether taken in our indoor studio or our outdoor portrait park will reflect you and your interests. The utmost care is taken to provide the best atmosphere possible to make you feel comfortable.

The Changing Face of Photography

Mark Rychel Photographers was established in 1989.
A lot has happened in the photography since I started my business. Film went out the window, point and shoot cameras went out the window too with the advent of phone cameras. What could I do to remain relevant in an ever changing industry.

The answer for me  has been mirrorless professional cameras. Cameras that take high quality still pictures as well as high quality video. I have changed approach to incorporate video, particularly in
the documentary photography that I do in Haiti.

Special Thanks to Mystic Image Media for assembling the above video
I have also integrated drone photography, primarily in  real estate and documentary photography and video to my repertoire as well.

It is refreshing to have new challenges and learn new skills.  Technology is awesome and using it to capture meaningful events and portraits makes the photography business worthwhile.

Stay tuned for more cutting edge approaches to photography as technology changes

It's been a long time!

I haven't posted on this blog for ages. That doesn't mean I've been away from the internet. I have established 2 new, Ministry In Mission is a non-profit established by my wife Jackie to do mission work in the United States and across the world. Many of my pictures have focused (pun intended) to the work done by Ministry In Mission in Haiti.

The second site is my church 's website, that details our mission at St. Mark to go and make Disciples of all Nations. Both of these sites gave me the opportunity to use WordPress as a content management site. I am still busy at Rychels Designer Portraits doing High school senior portraits,
Executive Portraits for industry and Family portraits. I still do event photography but do to my heavy travel schedule, not as many events as I have done in the past. Photography is still fun for me, and the opportunity to use my talent to serve the Lord, is extremely rewarding.

Singapore B'NAI Mitzvah

It is not often that i have the opportunity to photograph a B'nai Mitzvah. Ian and Alexandra have lived in Singapore for the last 11 years with their mom and dad. Grandparents and family were here so they studied with the Rabbi Sukol over Skype as well as having a tutor in Singapore and on June 23, they both were B'nai Mitzah at temple Israel Ner Tamid.

Haiti Wedding

As many of you know, my wife Jackie and I are involved in reaching out to the people of Haiti to help improve their spiritual, physical and economic situation. In January I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of my dear friend Sophie to Abner. It was cool to see the customs of a Haitian wedding as well as to enjoy Sophie and Abner's friends and family.

A GREAT start to a new school year

High school senior portrait sessions are one of my favorites. Your High School Senior picture defines you.

  • It sits on you mother's fireplace mantel FOREVER !
  •  At your class reunions, its the one that says who you were
  • at many class reunions they make name tags with your Senior picture
  • For most of us it is the only time in our lives where the camera explores only us. When you get married a lot of pictures are taken but that special moment is shared.
  • At Mark Rychel Photographers we photograph you as  the special individual you are. No cookie cuttter portraits.
  • We will capture what makes you you.

Meet me in St. Louis

Last week was awesome. I had the opportunity to take pictures at Lionel and Rachel's wedding. Both are personal friends and connected the work being done in Haiti. This was my first time to St. Louis and I found it very comfortable, just like Cleveland,in many respects.
Rachel and Lionel's pictures are here:
